Lars Jansson Trio

Lars Jansson is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher. He grew up in Örebro (Sweden) and after high school he started studying medicine where after a year and a half he decided to devote himself to music. Good thing. At the Göteborg College of Music he came into contact with other Scandinavian musicians and later also with international greats. Since then Lars has been composing and arranging for small groups, big bands, choirs, chamber orchestras and so on.
His trio has long been one of the most recognized jazz bands in Scandinavia. They made a series of impressively beautiful albums and the list of albums Lars Janson plays on is also impressive. In 1998 Lars was nominated for the Danish Jazzpar Prize and became the first jazz professor in Aarhus (Denmark), in 2001 he received a Danish Grammy for the Trio album 'Hope'.
And this year he was personally awarded the prize of the Swedish Academy of Music by the Swedish king. A king does not just do that and you can come to Junushoff on 22 September to hear why the king was right. And if you think you're just starting to get a picture of Lars Jansson, it's nice to know that he has been actively practicing yoga, meditating and studying the psychology of Carl Jung for over 20 years.
